Artist Study - Steve Wall (Water Droplet Photography)

Steve Wall is an amateur photographer that has developed a unique form of photography that utilizes water as both a subject within the image and also as a tool to capture the image. He uses a DSLR camera and a Macro lens to take photos of water droplets while, at the same time, focusing on the distorted image that can be seen through the droplet itself. These series of images are an excellent way of conveying water and nature together at the same time and will make a perfect experiment for me to try out.

Brainstorming Topics

For Unit 1, I've created a mind map with all of the various topics that I can choose from, and have expanded ideas on each one so that I can find out which one is the best choice for me.

I have found that there are two topics that I feel I could be most creative with, Time and Water. I have decided that I will look more towards Water as a starting point and have also thought about incorporating aspects from time into my work too by using fast/slow shutter speeds to capture the water in time.
